September Sunday History Program Planned at Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site
 

Fort Abercrombie, N.D. – Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site near Fargo will host the last Sunday History Program for the season on Sunday, Sept. 3, from 2 to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The outdoor program will be on the back patio of the Interpretive Center.

University Distinguished Professor and NDSU History Professor Dr. Thomas Isern will present “Happy As a Clam: The Rediscovery of the Great Plains Folk Songs.” The history program features a sing along, storytelling, and guitar performance of folk music.

Fort Abercrombie is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Summer hours are daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with guided tours available. Admission is $8 for adults and $3 for youth. The site closes for the season on Monday, Sept. 4, at 5 p.m. School tours can be arranged Sept. 5 to Oct. 31.
