U.S., Japan bishops pledge to work toward a world free of nuclear weapons
On the final day of the Pilgrimage of Peace, Archbishop Etienne signed a partnership declaration with the archbishops of Santa Fe and Nagasaki and the bishop of Hiroshima for a world without nuclear weapons. (The Archdiocese of Santa Fe makes the nuclear weapons, while our archdiocese holds the largest number of nuclear weapons – and the Archdiocese of Nagasaki and the Diocese of Hiroshima are the only dioceses in the world directly impacted by an atomic bomb.) Read the full story, including details about the declaration, on Northwest Catholic.
If you’d like to read more about the work to build this bridge in Japan, please read the Daily Digest on the Pilgrimage of Peace website or read Archbishop Etienne's blog.
