Rye Listening Tour 2023

Each year we focus on an area of East Sussex to engage with local people and understand the needs of their communities in more detail. Our 2023 ‘Listening Tour’ will capture feedback from residents of Rye and the surrounding villages.

From 10th September, Healthwatch East Sussex will be launching two-weeks of activity to talk to local people about their experiences of health and social care services.

As the local independent watchdog for health and care services, we want to hear about your experiences of GPs, outpatients, mental health services, hospital stays, dentists, pharmacies, occupational therapists, district nurses, care in your home, or residential care homes and any other services you have used.

We are collaborating with local charities, community groups, health and care providers and the local authority to meet people ‘where they are’ across the area. 

We use a wide variety of engagement activities and events to ask people about their experiences of health and care.

We will use the feedback we receive to make recommendations to support positive changes to the health and care services used by residents.

There are lots of ways for residents, communities and professionals to get involved in the Listening Tour.

Our programme of activity includes:

• Surveys and social media
• Discussion groups and one-to-one conversations
• Pop-up stands in various locations and at events within the community
• There are also opportunities to participate through our website, social media, postal survey or by telephone
