One Year Since Mahsa Amini's Death
On the one-year anniversary of the death of Mahsa Jina Amini, MEWSo and many other charities, activists, politicians and human rights organisations will be holding a national demonstration in Trafalgar Square.
The rally is to help keep the 22 year-old’s name, and what happened to her at the hands of Iran’s ‘Morality Police’, in the public eye.
Mahsa was so severely beaten for apparently not wearing her hijab properly that she fell into a coma and died. The event sparked months of civil unrest across Iran and protests around the world. ‘Women, Life, Freedom’ became the slogan of opposition and women cut off their hair as a mark of resistance and solidarity.
You, too, can commemorate Mahsa’s death and protest by joining MEWSo in Trafalgar Square on SATURDAY 16 SEPTEMBER, from 2-6pm. We need you to Raise Your Voice to encourage Government to do more to isolate Iran’s Islamic Regime, and send a message to women around the world, who continue to suffer staggering atrocities, that they are not forgotten and we stand with them and their cause.
