On Tuesday, Sept. 12, the UTM Campus Project Management Office welcomes all staff, faculty, and librarians who practice, or hope to learn more about, the power of project management, continuous improvement, or business analysis to a session on The Initiation Phase and Project Charter.
This event will dive into the best practices for getting projects started. Learn how to set projects up for success and avoid common pitfalls that occur when projects are hastily launched, such as: lack of clarity around objectives or roles and responsibilities, scope creep, inadequate stakeholder engagement, and more. The UTM Indigenous Centre is seeking volunteers to assist with the Tipi and Teaching Lodge raising on Sept. 13.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Queer Orientation (QO) is an annual week of 2SLGBTQ+-focused programming across all three campuses of U of T during the last week of September.
On Sept. 19, it's including UTM Library Queer Orientation from noon to 2 p.m. in the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre.
QO is an opportunity for new and returning students, staff and faculty to make connections, engage in activities and have discussions related to 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Learn more
Study up on information security and win
The University launched the Security Awareness Training (SAT) Foundations project as part of the broader Security Awareness and Training Program (SATP) in June 2023, aiming to enhance knowledge about information security among U of T staff, librarians, and faculty. Phase two of the project is now open to all units at U of T.
These modules cover a wide range of topics, from identifying phishing attempts to safeguarding sensitive data.
The first 20 units to join the program and the first 50 participants to complete the training will have an opportunity to win prizes. Learn more
