Wallowa-Whitman National Forest with Grande Ronde Model Watershed to Host Volunteer Event for National Public Lands Day
Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
 
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of National Public Lands day, Grande Ronde Model Watershed and Wallowa Whitman National Forest are hosting a volunteer event at Bird Track Springs Restoration Site, near La Grande.

Additional collaborators include the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation Education Department, Greater Hells Canyon Council, and Blue Mountains Conservancy.

Please RSVP. A free lunch will be provided by the Iniim Coffeeshop for those who RSVP. Lunch will highlight Indigenous foods including salmon salad sandwiches and native berry baked beans.

EOVA to host Hells Canyon Scenic Byway Partner Convening in La Grande
Thursday, September 28th, 10:30am - 2:00pm
followed by an optional Happy Hour from 3:00-5:00pm

Please join EOVA for a convening of partners interested and involved with the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway! This event is for partners involved with the stewardship, management, and promotion of recreation assets along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway.

Together we will:

  • Share exciting updates including a new recreation map, accessibility audit, and Tourism Stewardship Plan for Byway Assets
  • Discuss priority projects for the next year
  • Start to plan for action!

OTTA Fall Meeting - Itinerary Building
October 2-3, Pendleton

Connect with your fellow industry peers from around the state as we workshop through suggested stops and experiences to build and refresh OTTA itineraries with the new and exciting things that are happening in Oregon. OTTA Itineraries live on the Oregon Tour & Travel Alliance website and are used by Travel Oregon staff when they attend travel shows such as NTA and IPW. The best way to be included on an itinerary is to be at this meeting and represent! As a bonus, you’ll hear first-hand about what’s going on around the state.

Oregon Tourism Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for the 2024 cohort. This program, offered through the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association in partnership with Travel Oregon and ODA, is designed for professionals currently serving Oregon’s tourism and hospitality industries. Interested program participants should have supervisory, managerial, or executive responsibilities in either the private or public sector.  Program participants must confirm their availability to participate in four multi-day experiences taking place during all four seasons of the year. This comprehensive program requires a commitment of time from participants.

Advancing Trails - Webinar Series

American Trails brings agencies, trail builders, planners, architects, advocates, and volunteers the latest in state-of-the-art information on all aspects of trails and greenways. Our webinars focus on a variety of trail topics, usually applicable to all trail types, with expert presenters. Webinar topics are chosen from current cutting-edge trail topics selected from attendee/presenter suggestions as well as recent popular conference sessions.
