Sabbath School Alive!
Sabbath School Alive! Training is September 15 & 16, 2023 at the Anchorage Northside SDA Church. Join speakers Jim Howard and Joe Reeves, Director and Assistant Director of Sabbath School & Personal Ministries Department at the General Conference, as they provide information on revitalizing your Sabbath School:
Friday evening, 7 pm – Young Adult Ministry (Joe Reeves)
Sabbath School, 9:45 am – Model the Lesson (Jim Howard)
Church Service, 10:50 pm – Philosophy of Sabbath School (Jim Howard)
Sabbath Afternoon, 3-5 pm – How to teach and how to make Sabbath Schools Evangelistic (plus Q&A) (Jim Howard & Joe Reeve)
Young Adults and those with a passion for YA ministry are especially invited to join Friday evening for a special presentation, available in person at the Conference Office, and also through Zoom. In-person participation is encouraged for all who are able, but Sabbath sessions at the Northside church will also be live-streamed on its Facebook page and YouTube channel. Pastors/Elders may invite their churches to participate in real-time during divine service.

 Celebrating 100!
Palmer church member Virginia Spreen will be celebrating her 100th birthday on the 21st of this month! Please join her for a special fellowship meal on Sabbath September 23 at the Palmer church after the morning service. Bring a card, share special ways she has touched your life and help us celebrate her!

 Mental Health First Aid
The Hillside Omalley church is hosting a mental health first aid (MHFA) class. MHFA is for anyone who has family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors who might need encouragement and direction to get through difficult times. The interactive 8-hour class helps participants learn simple ways to encourage, support and when/how to refer when problems needs professional assistance. MHFA will be held at the Hillside-O’Malley church in two, four-hour sessions September 30 and October 1, 3:00 – 7:00 pm (1 CEU is available). There is a small fee for the book and materials and a brief pre-class online worksheet needs to be completed. Class is limited to 30 participants. For more information, click on the image.

 Israel Trip Update
It is only seven months before the trip to Israel. Here is the next step: a solid estimate of who is coming is needed. Currently six people are signed up; an additional 24 are needed to form an independent group.  AGA Blessing & Need
Amazing Grace Academy has been blessed with generous donations of $10,000 specifically earmarked for handbells! A quality used set has been found however extra money is needed for the shipping, music, tables, gloves, etc. for the handbell choir to use. ONLY $800 of the initial $4,000 is needed to cover these extra costs. If you are impressed to contribute to this need, please mark your tithe envelope for AGA handbells. Praise God for providing this exciting ministry for our high school aged children!!
