Upcoming PayPath Blackouts for Faculty, PostDocs, and ASE/GSRs

PayPath transactors should take note of the upcoming PayPath blackouts for salary adjustments:

Faculty Blackout: 09/08/2023 - 09/14/2023
PX Unit: 09/16/2023 - 09/21/2023
ASE/GSR Units: 09/29/2023 - 10/05/2023

During these times, please do not enter PayPath transactions for these populations as UCPC will be mass-processing salary adjustments. The UCPath Operations Team has added these PayPath blackout periods to the UCPath Payroll Processing Schedule Cal.

Expected Job End Dates Now Removed in Job Data When Employees Change to a Career Appointment

We are pleased to inform you that UCPath has fixed the issue where Expected Job End Dates were carried over (despite leaving the field blank on the template) when an employee was being changed from an appointment with an end date to a Career appointment with no (indefinite) end date.

UCPath Training Schedule for New Transactors

Registration is open in UC LearningCenter (UCLC) for the upcoming UCPath Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions. Please use the keyword “UCPath” when searching in UCLC to find the entire catalog.

*New Hires*: If someone is new to UCB/UCPath or has never attended any of the UCPath training sessions, please ensure they complete the prerequisites before attending an instructor-led training session.

Pre-Requisites:

Introduction to UCPath (online eCourse)
Access to Global Protect VPN (Library Access and Full Tunnel)
Some courses may have additional prerequisites, noted in the description in UC LearningCenter

Upcoming Planned System Maintenance

UCPath is extending the standard UCPath maintenance window to complete critical tax and security updates. UCPath will be unavailable during the following dates and times:

Start Time: Sunday, September 10, 12:01 a.m.
End Time: Sunday, September 10, 10:00 a.m.

Impact: During the planned maintenance, all employees, managers, transactors, and the UCPath Center will not have access to UCPath. Please plan accordingly to make any necessary changes prior to the outage.

Resolved: Issue with updating vacant GSR positions using Position Control

UCPath has resolved an issue for updating vacant GSR positions using the Position Control process. There previously was an issue with the Employee Relation Code mapping to the new appropriate value 'Student Academic Title, Covered by HEERA' that was causing transactions to not save in Position Control upon approval. This has since been resolved (8/2/23) and vacant Position Data for GSR titles in the BR unit should save successfully along with the defaulting ERC value: 'Student Academic Title, Covered by HEERA'

New Production Processing Calendar

The Berkeley UCPath Operations Team has created a Google Calendar version of the 2023 UCPath Production Processing Schedule. This UCPath Production Processing Schedule bCal can be found on our Transactional Users page on our Berkeley UCPath webpage.

This calendar also includes system downtimes like the one mentioned above. To add this calendar to your personal Google Calendar:

Click on the ‘+’ button underneath the calendar on the Transactional Users page.
First, ensure you’re signed in to your CalNet account and click '+ Google Calendar'. The calendar will be added to your bCal under the ‘Other calendars’ section on the left side of your screen.
