Meet Mukundwa, one of the 23 baby mountain gorillas given names during the 19th Kwita Izina in Kinigi, Rwanda. Mukundwa means 'preferred'.
 Dear <<First Name>>

All well?

In a fresh "Good Tourism" Insight, Aayusha Prasain, CEO of the Community Homestay Network, lays out her vision for purposeful travel and why the tourism industry should lead by example(Don't forget that you too can write a “GT” Insight.)

On Friday I had the great privilege of attending the 19th Kwita Izina in Kinigi, Northern Province, Rwanda. Twenty-three gorillas born over the past 12 months were given names in a celebration of the success of Rwanda's world-class conservation and community development initiatives in and around Volcanoes National Park.

I am in Rwanda at the invitation of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and "GT" Partners Red Rocks Rwanda and Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development.

I am posting travel impressions — “GT” Travel Postcards — on The "GT" Travel Blog as I invite fresh perspectives on tourism for The “Good Tourism” Blog

My latest "GT" Travel Postcard from Rwanda is 'Ubumuntu' ... 'greatness of heart'.

Purposeful travel by design: Can tourism lead the way to a sustainable future
"Purposeful, responsible tourism is as much, if not more, about the entire travel industry making an effort to design and promote such travel than it is about responding to individual travellers’ demand for it." _ Aayusha Prasain
