September 2023

Hey, friends!

We’ve got a Fall update for you … and an urgent plea!

First of all…OOPS! We did it again!  ALL the baby kittens came to us…16 of them with their mamas.  Worst timing imaginable since our local shelter is at double capacity, other local rescues are way overbooked, and our northern transport partners have more kitties than they can handle.  We took them in anyway, because … we’re HHS and we save lives whenever we possibly can.  All kittens and their moms are currently being fostered by one of our loving foster families and we have them scheduled for a transport in October.  BUT…we need your help to provide medical care, food and transport fees for the babies.

WILL YOU SPONSOR A KITTEN?  Your $50 donation with help us help them!

Please go to our website at www.habershamhumane.org to donate via Paypal or mail your check to HHS,  PO Box 1442, Clarkesville, GA 30523.

THANK YOU FROM ALL THESE PRECIOUS LITTLE ONES!

OUR “GIVING TREE” IS UP!

Thanks to our friends at El Jinete Mexican Restaurant in Clarkesville who provide us with our big bulletin board space, we now have our 2023 Giving Tree installed.

Take a leaf / Save a life!  Donation amounts range from $10 for collars and leashes to $500 if you want to make our hearts swell by being a HUGE friend to the animals!

Visit El Jinete; enjoy their awesome food; have a tasty frozen margarita; and check out our bulletin board!

CLARKESVILLE LIBRARY PRESCHOOL STORYTIME…

Teaching our children to love and care!

The HHS volunteer team unleashed their creativity in August as they joined the staff of Clarkesville-Habersham Library to host “Storytime” on Wednesday mornings.  We read about dogs, cats, birds, chickens, fish … and PENGUINS (because one of our awesome volunteers had a snappy penguin costume!)

It was great fun, a wonderful time of teaching and fellowship, and a perfect opportunity to let our community’s children learn the importance of loving and caring for their pets.  Thanks, TEAM!  You are the best!
