The Sanity of Your Daily TO DO List
Dear Reader
Something that really helps me on my journey going forward is my daily to do list, married to my rocks that I'm working on. And I call it the 'sanity of my daily list'.
On that daily list I look at what are my to-do's for this week, the things that I need to get done this week, but also what are my rocks that I'm working on for this quarter. Every day I decide, at the beginning of the day - before I open my emails, before I look at anything else, or receive phone calls, or speak with people - what are those things that will help me through this day?
And then also, what are the big rocks, what are the rocks that I need to move along? So at the end of the day it will be a successful day, and it won't feel like a day that I've just been running around solving issues and fighting fires, but it's actually a growth day.
I would recommend this at the beginning of the day, or the previous night before the day: sit down, have your list and look at your rocks. Look at your to-do's for this week and build your daily list of what you need to do. And as you go through the day you can draw lines through those items that you've just achieved and it feels like accomplishment.
So there you have it; it brings sanity, it brings forward momentum and it will keep you motivated.
A daily list is golden.
I hope you find this helpful. If you want to know more about EOS, let me know and I'll do a complimentary 90-minute meeting with you and your leadership team, teaching them all to drive their daily progress through the EOS system.
Have a great week
