Bookmark this new, easy-to-use website offered by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin: the Internet Discount Finder. This will really help folks looking for internet options, especially discounted ones, in their area! 

Free book event this November

The Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) is hosting its annual Starred Review Days November 13-17.

Librarians and teachers are welcome to come for hands-on book examination of 2023 books that have received one or more stars in the following journals: Booklist, Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books, Horn Book, Kirkus, and School Library Journal. Registration is required.  

Books selected to-date for CCBC Choices 2024 will also be on display.

• November 13-16:  8:30 am – 7:00 pm

• November 17:  8:30 am – 2 pm

• Open: October 31, 2023, Closed: February 14, 2024

• Who Can Submit: Individuals ages five and up who identify as having a disability.

• Visual Art Submission Guidelines: Submit images of up to two works of art using the online entry form: www.artsforallwi.org/programs/call-for-art

• Poetry Submission Guidelines: Submit up to two poems at www.artsforallwi.org/programs/call-for-poetry

Deadline Sept. 29: Intellectual Freedom in WI Libraries Survey

Help lay the groundwork for creating a more holistic challenge reporting system, and inform the WLA Intellectual Freedom Committee as they develop resources to support Wisconsin libraries. Survey closes September 29th.

Small & Rural Libraries Grant

Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities will offer more than $7 million in grants to small and rural libraries to increase the accessibility of facilities, services, and programs to better serve people with disabilities.
