As time permits I take on some repairs and restorations. This guitar came into my shop after having survived the Superior, Colorado fire. It had some pretty serious water and smoke damage.

I was able to re-top the guitar making it spruce instead of cedar, salvage the existing pickup, convert the neck from dovetail to bolt on mortise and tenon, new frets, top bindings and purflings, make a new bridge and apply a high gloss lacquer finish. Let's just say it would have been easier and quicker to just make a new guitar!

If you want to learn more about repair and restoration I have a very detailed Online Course covering many of the repair jobs I have done over the years. One was even an 1860 Martin! I show every step of each restoration and repair in great detail filmed in High Definition.
I also have a video repair library on the Lutherie Academy website. You can check those out for free.

Happy Building.
