CIC Alum Connect

A note from Dean Tom Reichert

Dear Alumni,

We are officially back in the swing of things. School began Aug. 24, and it looks to be fantastic year. We’re celebrating the J-school’s centennial and strong momentum in the iSchool.

There are a lot of new faces across the college. Since the summer, we’ve added 15 new faculty and support staff team members. All have tremendous experience either professionally and/or academically, and they will continue to infuse our programs with new ideas and practical experience.

We also set a modern-day record with 321 freshman enrolled in our majors—the most since at least 2013. Our graduate student numbers are strong, as well, at about 500 total students —most of them in our Master of Library and Information Science program. Many new students enrolled in our new M.S. degrees in Data Analytics and Communication and Cyber Security. If you are interested in a 12-hour certificate to learn new skills — or one of these new degree programs —please contact Jasmine Blackwell.

As always, there is much more in this edition of CIC News—so keep scrolling. Again, thank you for all you do to support the college and our students.

Forever to thee! … And long live the CIC!
Dean Reichert
