National Truth & Reconciliation Virtual Event
Krasman Centre's Anti-Racism Anti-Oppression Change Committee (ARAOCC) presents an educational session by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR). This virtual event will feature our guest Jake Charles or Na-nock-ashee (which means Hummingbird in Ojibway), a traditional Anishinaabe knowledge sharer, teacher, and cultural guide in his community of the Chippewas of Georgina Island, who will be singing with his hand drum, to open the event.
Then followed by our guest speaker Kaila Johnston (Supervisor of Education, Outreach, and Public Programming from NCTR), who will discuss colonial systems and impacts (sixties scoop, day schools, sanatoriums, MMIWG), intergenerational trauma and healing, Calls to Action, and allyship.

NEW BIPOC Peer Support Wellness Group: Join us IN-PERSON!
Do you identify as a member of the Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Colour (BIPOC) communities and are seeking support to address your experiences as a BIPOC person?
Krasman Centre introduces BIPOC Peer Support Wellness Group, a coming together of members of the BIPOC communities, for opportunities to discuss the richness of our cultures, challenges, strengths and resilience.
The group will begin with an African drumming healing circle (facilitated by Negus Medhin of Holistic Vibrancy), an interactive group rhythmic drumming, using African & Caribbean music for stress and anxiety release, followed by a 1-hour facilitated group discussion. Light refreshments will be provided.

We strive to maintain a warm and welcoming environment and foster mutually supportive relationships that empower recovery, personal growth, and social action.

If you have recently lost a loved one, we want you to know that we are here to support you in your journey toward healing. Coping with Grief is a six-week bereavement peer support group designed to support you in navigating the complex emotions that come with loss. Remember, you are not alone. Join us and connect with other individuals who share similar experiences, and who can empathize with what you are currently going through.
