Hi everyone! This week, Elicit Beta will become the main Elicit app! You will still be able to use the original Elicit at old.elicit.org. We plan to keep this original version around for another 2-4 weeks, depending on how this migration goes and the feedback we get from you all.

Elicit Beta has many new features that Elicit Original does not have. You can extract data from up to 100 of your own papers, summarize concepts across many papers (while still seeing the sources!), and manage a library to organize all of your content! More exciting features are in the works.

Elicit Beta is a paid product. Pricing depends on a variety of factors, including the workflow, the number of papers you analyze, and the number of columns or features you analyze. Generally, the more text you’re processing, the more a workflow costs.

New users get 5,000 credits to try out the different workflows. Find scientific research papers is the one that you’ve been using in Elicit Original to date. It is the cheapest workflow. With 5,000 credits, you should be able to run ~ 60 Find papers queries for free (assuming that your query is an average size query and doesn’t have an unusually large number of papers or columns). Originally, we hoped to continue offering this for free. But with around 200K monthly active users (😮) this no longer seems sustainable for us. We will continue iterating on pricing and costs to give you as much value as possible.

So far, the feedback we’ve gotten is that people prefer Elicit Beta to Elicit Original 😊 We’re excited to build a new home for all of your research! If you haven’t tried Elicit Beta yet, you can sign in with your Elicit Original username & password.

Thank you so much for your support & understanding as we navigate the roll-out of this bigger app! We’re back to weekly launches and can’t wait to give you more epic tooling.

Feel free to share your feedback on Beta using this survey!

Best,

Jungwon
