The Columbia Climate School is pleased to welcome new and returning students, staff, and faculty back to campus for another academic year. Although the semester has only just begun, we have a lot to be excited about already, from our largest cohort yet of MA Climate and Society students, to new faculty and academic appointments, cross-cutting research collaborations, and a wide range of events open to the community. Climate Week NYC

The Climate Group has once again selected the Columbia Climate School as its University Partner for Climate Week NYC. Running September 17-24, Climate Week NYC convenes the most influential climate leaders in partnership with the United Nations General Assembly and in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York to drive the transition, speed up progress, and champion change.

The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law and WE ACT for Environmental Justice have released a series of model environmental justice bills for state legislators and advocates to use in their 2024 legislative sessions.

The Climate School's Pre-College workshops for high school students and Professional Learning workshops for adult learners are back for the fall semester. All workshops are 15 hours, non-credit, and generally run from October to December.

A new double degree program between the Climate School and HEC Paris will train students in international management, climate science and the implications of climate on society.

In partnership with the Friends and Residents of the Gowanus Canal, and faculty from the Climate School and the Mailman School of Public Health, MPA-ESP students visited the canal to learn about the impacts of environmental pollution and community challenges.
