BC MindReader Survey: Your Voice Matters on the Impact of Cost Increases on Business
Take the Survey for Impact of Cost Increases on Business

The BC Chamber network is conducting a survey to gauge the Impact of Cost Increases on Business, and we would like to hear from you. We are keen to understand the impacts (if any) of employer-paid sick leave, Employer Health Tax, and the increase to the minimum wage, which have all been implemented by the provincial government in recent years. The survey will take approximately 8 minutes to complete and will be open from September 5 to 15, 2023, at 4.00 pm (PT).

Stage 4 Water Restrictions for Chapman water system Effective Friday, September 8
Stage 4 Water Restrictions

From the Coast Reporter:
"Due to sustained heat and hardly any rain in the past few months, Chapman Lake levels have dropped triggering the need to start using the Chapman siphons and Edwards lake storage,” SCRD chief administrative officer Dean McKinley stated in the release. “This has unfortunately led us to have to make the difficult decision to move to severe water regulations.”

A major consideration in that call was community fire protection. In the release the SCRD manager of protective services, Matt Treit, stated, “The fire danger rating is currently very high on parts of the Sunshine Coast. On behalf of all our Fire Chiefs, I ask that our community obey Stage 4 water conservation regulations to ensure we have adequate water supply in the case of wildfire on the Sunshine Coast.”

BC Ferries will temporarily be closing the primary berth at Langdale (Sunshine Coast) terminal on October 3 and 4 for lower ramp and dock work.

As a result of the berth closure, the Langdale (Sunshine Coast) - Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) service will operate out of the second berth, which allows for single-deck vehicle loading and unloading only. In order to protect vehicle capacity, two vessels will operate hourly between both terminals while passenger capacity will increase overall.
