September Update 2023
Sunday Music by the Lake - Cancelled
Due to the forecast of 80% chance of rain with heavy and torrential downpours - this event has been cancelled. Thanks to Lost Wages and Mountain Burrito for being willing participants to make a fun evening for Valdese. And, for being patient while we hoped for a change in the weather this morning.
Plein Air Fest - Tickets on Sale
 
The weather held off on Saturday as the Plein Air Artists were able to start their paintings. The photo on the left was taken at Noon on Saturday. Amazing how quickly some artists work!
 
Saturday Sept 16 - Tickets are on sale now for the reception that includes artist awards, wet sale, live music, and hors d’oeuvres - $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Recurring
  • Tuesday Group Hike at Valdese Lakeside Park. Meet at the restrooms at 6:00 pm and the group will decide the route. 3-4 miles, easy to moderate.
  • Wednesday Group Hike at Valdese Lakeside Park. Meet at the restrooms at 9:30 am and the group will decide the route. 3-4 miles, easy to moderate.
  • Friday Morning - Slow 1 Miler - on the Greenway. Meet at the restrooms at 8:30am.
  • Saturday Group Hike at Valdese Lakeside Park. Meet at the restrooms at 9:00 am and the group will decide the route. 3-4 miles, easy to moderate.
  • 1st Sunday Group Walk on the Greenway at Valdese Lakeside Park. Meet at the restrooms at 2:00 pm
  • Lunch & Learn - 3rd Thursday at Noon. Free lunch and speaker for adults. at First United Methodist Church Valdese - September Topic - Valdese ABC Store

To have a place to gather at Valdese Lakeside Park with tables, seats, shade, views...... to be with friends, family, even strangers .... to eat together, be entertained, to learn, to enjoy the outdoors..... Read More about the Project - Any amount appreciated. Donors of $1000 or more will be listed on the pavilion. Donate to what is Important to You!!
 
 We keep account listings of our donations. We will use your money as you wish! Examples include:
  • General Fund – This fund enables us to offer fun stuff (Picnic at VLP, Fun at the Falls, Conservation Kids), Educational Programs (Tech Sessions, Living Wills) and projects (trees at Splash Park, scorer’s tables at Fletcher Field) - and keeps us in operation
  • Valdese Lakeside Park  – Signage, Picnic tables, benches, etc
  • Valdese Lakeside Park – Picnic Pavilion
  • Valdese Lakeside Park – Mountain Bike Trails
  • A specific park, a specific project
  • Membership
