Erik Walker Wikstrom: Our Guest Minister, Juggler and “Provocateur”
 
Rev. Erik Walker WikstromBOLD, CREATIVE AND DIFFERENT. If that’s what you’re looking for in a major UU event, include Erik Walker Wikstrom.
 
UU Ministers come from many dynamic backgrounds, but few have a resumé to match Wikstrom’s. It includes three respected books, years as Worship and Music Resources Director for the UUA, and these words: “magician, juggler, fire-eater, escape-artist and clown.”

Wikstrom was a natural choice when the CUC and UU Ministers of Canada were shaping our 2012 national gathering, the Spiritual Leadership Symposium in Ottawa from May 18-20.

Opus 2012 is at Ontario’s Unicamp

Opus 2012OPUS, THE UU YOUNG ADULT event of the year in North America, is coming to Canada in 2012! It runs from August 8-12, 2012, at Unicamp of Ontario, in Honeywood (1.5 hours north of Toronto). The theme is “The Summertime of Life,” and registration is open.

Sharing Our Faith 2012

ONCE A YEAR, our congregations are encouraged to hold a service celebrating the larger Canadian UU community, including a special collection for the Sharing Our Faith fund. All the funds collected are then given out in grants, that support growth projects in congregations.

THE SYMPOSIUM: AGM Resolutions, CanUUdle XII Details, Early Bird Registration Date (April 12th), Special Hotel Rate (to April 17th)

CUC 2012 Spiritual Leadership SymposiumHERE’S A RICH FEAST of 2012 Symposium updates.

Full details of CanUUdle XII, the 2012 national UU youth conference, are available on the CUC website, and youth registration is open! The Symposium is a multigenerational event, and CanUUdle is a key part of it.

Final versions of CUC’s proposed 2012 AGM resolutions have now been posted, along with an Action Plan for each, incorporating feedback received by the Proposers by February 28. Congregations are encouraged to discuss these resolutions, and decide how they wish to instruct their delegates to vote.

EARLY BIRD NOTE: There is a $50 discount on Symposium registrations paid by April 12th. There is a $25 discount on CanUUdle, Young Fun and Child Care registrations received by April 12th. Special reduced Symposium rates are available at The Westin Ottawa until April 17th.
