Spring Cleaning

Hello Beauties,

Warm, sweet spring air awakens our senses. We long to purge – unworn clothes closeted far too long, dust bunnies snuggled deeply down, and pantries over-stocked with heavy fare. Lawn furniture emerges from basements just as daffodils from the earthy soil to celebrate spring’s potential – to bring lightness to our lives.

You can do that with your body, too. I promise.

Energy, clarity and living to your fullest are just a few days away. I’m not talking about a diet to lose weight in a couple of weeks or a meal plan that’s a temporary fix for winter’s sluggishness. I’m talking simple shifts in your diet that will lead to permanent healthy choices for your lifetime. And weight loss.

Give me an hour of your time on Wednesday, April 25th, 6pm. For free, I’ll stimulate you toward the easy steps to get winter out of your body’s tissues and welcome in lightness and ease through spring to summer.

Spring Cleaning is good for the soul! What does that mean, exactly?

Winter is cold and our fat cells swell for warmth and nourishment for long, wintery nights. Fat is heavy, dense and dark.

Springtime is a light, airy, buoyant, joyful and weightless spring (pun intended) in your step.

Renew. Bring freshness to your outlook on your life. Be vibrant and colorful in the kitchen. Find clearness in your thinking and decision-making. Be less allergic to environmental pollutants. Evolve into the purest form of you.

Are you ready to Align / Nourish / Reconnect to your highest potential?

Join me at April 25th at the Center for Intregative Healing, 23 Main Street, Watertown Square, Watertown MA for an informative nutrition chat on Spring Cleaning. Parking is ample in the huge lot behind the building.

Arrive early to hold your seat!

Veg 101 May 23rd
!
Once, it was cool to be a vegetarian. Now, it’s essential to be as plant-based as possible. Not saying you gotta be a veg-head – just a move to a greater plant-based diet that supports using meat and dairy as condiments to the meals.
Vegetarians are healthier than omnivores. It's true. Research has shown that vegetarians have less heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer and other significant diseases that reduce quality of life. Come with all your questions to this FREE nutrition class. Read More

Therapeutic Yoga

Two Women Doing YogaAnusara yoga is a philosophy of mind, body, and spirit that uses heart-oriented Universal principles to align to our energetic Optimal Blueprint.  Thus, we experience relief from suffering. Pain, loss, injury and disease lead us to seek healing.
Join me in a 4-part Monday series (10:30-11:45am) beginning April 16th designed to explore how to align our body to experience the abundance of joy and freedom in our body that leads to the same in hearts and mind.

Feet and ankles (hands and wrists)
Often the foundation of our poses, our feet and ankles and hands and wrists can set the tone not only for how we feel in the overall shape of a pose, but we can use optimal alignment to heal misalignments that generate pain and prevent injuries in our feet and hands, knees, elbows and shoulders. It’s all interconnected.

Knees
Often, misalignments in the feet and ankles create misalignments that lead to knee pain. Tight hips can throw the knees out of alignment as well. Practice the principles of Shins In, Thighs Out to bring the knees into your energetic blueprint and reduce pain.

Hips and low back
Low back pain is the #1 most common complaint. Tightness in the hip flexors and a weak core may contribute to low back and hip pain. We’ll identify if the discomfort is organic (i.e., affected by weather) or muscular in nature. Play with Inner and Outer Spiral and Kidney and Pelvic Loop to free tightness here that can lead to pain.

Neck and shoulders
Another common area of tightness and fatigue are the neck and shoulders. Our forward moving society (computers, iPads, iPhones) leave us with slumpasana that can lead to headache, neck ache, upper back soreness and weakness and imbalance in our upper body. We’ll practice Shoulder Loop, Inner and Outer Spiral of the arms, and Skull Loop to alleviate misalignment and pain.
