On Essex Mums this month
The weather is looking lovely out there and I'm feeling decidedly spring-like! Maybe this is the opportunity you've been looking for to dust off those cobwebs and meet some other parents!
Happy Fourth Birthday Essex Mums
It's just a couple of weeks until Essex Mums celebrates its fourth birthday so once again, can I say thank you do everyone who has been a part of the site over the years, whether you are a regular chatter on the forum or someone who just pops on occasionally to check out some events. I can't believe it's come such a long way and hope it continues to be useful to you all! If you're interested in celebrating with us, come and check out this thread about a potential birthday party and do come along if you're free!
School Admissions
Are you one of the many parents across the county who has just found out their child's secondary school placement, or is waiting to find out which infant school their little ones are going to? Why not come and discuss how you feel about this in the forum. There's a special Schools section where you can chat about everything from the school itself to your fears about such a big change. It can be so useful to have support from other parents in your position and to hear the experiences of those who have been there before.
Want to be on TV?
Then take a look at the Media Requests section of the forum for shows needing people like you.
Are you Pregnant?
Yes? Then come and share your happy news with us! Post your due date, or just discuss how you're feeling with other Mums-to-be. You might also want to check out our fantastic Ask the Midwife section, where you can ask Lorraine from Birth Affinity, a qualified Midwife, Natal Hypnotherapy practitioner, birth educator and mum of three any questions you have about your pregnancy as well as getting advice from other Mums.
Trying to get fit for summer?
Come and join us in the Losing Weight Support section. It's really helpful to have others cheering you on and giving you advice and support on the way - everyone's welcome! We also have a section for Tried and Tested Healthy recipes.
Easter Events
If you have any events you would like listed on the site, please send them over to louise@essexmums.org. Likewise, if you would like to arrange a meet-up over the Easter holidays, or just now that the weather is getting nicer, come and post in the Meet -Ups section.
Newsletter Feedback
I've been wondering recently about whether I should continue with this newsletter - how many of you read it, is it useful etc. and would really appreciate any feedback you can give me so that I can decide whether or not to continue with it.
Competitions
Things to win! Check out the great competitions we currently have running. If you would like to run a competition yourself please let me know - it's a great way to advertise for free and also give something lovely to parents in Essex!
