Welcome to Martha Kisling Fine Art!

There is a hint of spring in the air here in Colorado. I know we have more snow to come but at least it will be warmer in between the storms. I just finished teaching a Watercolor Collage Workshop on Saturday, am trying to work my way thru my stack of unfinished paintings and have been enjoying the latest craze called Pinterest - read more about it all below and happy painting!

A few weeks ago my husband and I made a quick road trip to Texas to visit my Mom. It has been nine months since my Dad passed away and not an easy adjustment for any of us, but having her granddog around always makes Mom smile, so of course Ginger came with us. Here she is enjoying the balmy southern weather, green grass and a view of the pool - do we have to go back to Colorado?

Invited Back To Breckenridge     Watercolor Collage WorkshopWatercolor Collage Workshop

I just finished teaching a One Day Workshop on Watercolor Collage. You can see a few of the ladies that attended the workshop working on their pieces above. We began by painting on wet paper and using salt, plastic wrap and cheese cloth to create some texture. then we hand painted some tissue paper and rice papers to use for collage. When everything was dry we began gluing on the papers, adding more paint, more papers and so on until we were happy with the results. A great group of artists who were willing to embrace the creative process.

Studio Tip

Warm it up - your artwork, paints and papers probably provide some color in your studio, but in the winter months you can always use more. Hang some colorful artwork that inspires you, paint your work chair a bright color, add a new window treatment or arrange some pretty flowers.

Creative Journey - Pinterest

Pinterest is a relatively new website that allows users to “pin” images, organize those images into collages called 'boards' and then share those collages with other Pinterest users. You can also follow other site members, comment on images, tag other users in your comments, and “like” other people’s pins.
Pinterest lets you share the beautiful things you find on the web - just like we use to tear things out of magazines and keep them in folders. You can collect craft ideas, recipes, photos, fashion and even plan a wedding - visually inspiring and totally addictive! Check out my collection boards at
