Do You Need a Blogging Break?
Hello Juicy Bloggers!
Whether you post once a day, or five days a week, blogging is a long-term commitment. You need to rest sometimes to keep things fresh.
Here are 5 blogging break ideas to help you re-energize your blogging practice:
1.
Take a digital sabbatical for a day, a weekend, or even a month. Let your friends, family, co-workers, and readers know that you won't be checking your email, blog, cell phone, or social networks for a certain period of time.
2.
Join the National Day of Unplugging March 23-24, 2012.
3.
Set up a guest post series so that you're still publishing, but you get a break from writing. For tips, check out
10 Tips for Creating a Guest Blogger Series from the September 2011 edition of the Juicy Blogging eNews.
4.
Revive posts from your archives. Update past popular posts. Republish juicy ones from when you first started blogging. Create round-ups of your own posts around one topic (e.g. If you're a food blogger, and you keep being asked for gluten-free recipes, do a round-up post with links to your top gluten-free posts).
5.
Review your blog plan: Why do you blog? What do you want to achieve with your blog? Who is your ideal audience? What kind of posts will help you reach your goals, and be of value to your audience?
Everything has a season and cycle. If this a quiet time for you, embrace it. Spring is right around the corner.
Happy Blogging!
