Dear Friends,
Friday, March 14th marked the 20th Anniversary of the opening of Princeton Brain & Spine Care. This milestone brings to mind Cicero's powerful words: "Memory is the treasury and guardian of all things." As I reflect on this anniversary, those words resonate.

Many of you have reached out on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and in person to extend their best wishes on this occasion. I am deeply grateful.
Let's get started.

20th Anniversary: A Reflection
This Newsletter began with a quote from Cicero that seemed appropriate to the 20th Anniversary of the opening of Princeton Brain & Spine Care on March 14, 2005. We've come a very long way from that early beginning, and I'm full of gratitude to all the people who played a role in the journey. I shared some thoughts on my LinkedIn channel, and I invite you to have a look.
My Reflections
As a child, I always knew I wanted to be a doctor. I was called to the challenge of medicine and the privilege of healing. Thanks to the support of my family, the guidance of mentors, and years of training, that dream became a reality. On our 20th Anniversary that leads to some reflections on dreams and opportunities about how each of us can contribute to making a better world.
Please consider following me across multiple social media channels. As this Newsletter demonstrates, I'm committed to sharing a broad variety of information and content. Some content may be suitable for a fun Facebook video; some might be found only on a site like LinkedIn. The only way to see it all, is to subscribe everywhere.

Brain Injury Awareness Month
As a neurosurgeon, I have seen the results of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
As a previous NCAA Division I wrestler and as a youth coach, I have a passion for the sport of wrestling. Anyone who is involved in youth sports... as a coach, a parent, or as an athlete has a responsibility to take steps to prevent traumatic brain injuries.

You can support research into Traumatic Brain Injury at the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.

Trigeminal Neuralgia : Explore "The Suicide Disease"
We continue our review of important articles from the patient library on my website. Many patients and medical professionals that are reading this are aware that I often treat Trigeminal Neuralgia. I had the very good fortune to train with Dr. Peter Jannetta, the originator of the "gold standard" treatment for Trigeminal Neuralgia, and the condition has remained an important part of my practice.
If you're interested in learning about what was sometimes called the "suicide disease" during the early 1900s then this article will provide a great jumping-off point to explore the articles to be found on
markmclaughlinmd.com.
Explore multiple articles about the disease along with a reminiscence of my first meeting with Dr. Jannetta.
