Children of the Universe Project

Sisters of Earth is offering a Children of the Universe Project to bring the new story and Thomas Berry's wisdom into work with children in the Americas and beyond. During the first phase of the project, participants will receive a packet of materials authored, edited and created by Sisters of Earth who have been deeply influenced by the new cosmology and teachings of Thomas Berry. During this first phase, mentors will be available to work one-on-one with participants as they begin this creative and integrative work. Thomas Berry spoke of a “functional cosmology” – a cosmology with many emanations of the great work, authentic to diverse contexts and situations. We picture Phase Two as a blossoming and sharing of practices in a mutually enhancing relationship among participants. SoE is seeking 50 educators for the project.

“It has been a difficult year — politically, personally. Through it all, I have found solace in taking a more telescopic view — not merely on the short human timescale of my own life, looking back on having lived through a Communist dictatorship and having seen poems composed and scientific advances made under such tyrannical circumstances, but on far vaster scales of space and time.”

Seeds of Radical Renewal
A new hybrid in-person and online leadership course
September 17 - November 19, 2025

What does it mean to lead amid the turmoil of our ecological unraveling from a place that centers the Earth not as an abstract idea, but as a living presence?

Opening a space for in-depth explorations of how we might respond to the social and ecological challenges of our time from a space of connection; listen to voices and intelligences outside our own; share power in community; and learn to relinquish uncertainty, this course will offer mentoring to emerging leaders on building relationships with human and more-than-human communities and applying the values of renewal, reciprocity, and reverence to real-world projects.
