Wishing You a Restful Easter Break – A Message from Our Headteacher

Dear Families,

As we approach the end of this spring term and look ahead to the summer, I want to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support of Park View School. Together, we are growing stronger as a community, and we are especially proud of the incredible enrichment opportunities our young people continue to benefit from. Some of these highlights are shared below.

Like many schools across the country, Park View is facing significant financial challenges. However, we remain committed to finding creative and sustainable ways to raise funds that support both our students and the wider community. If you have any ideas or suggestions, we’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to get in touch with our linked charity at friendsofparkview@parkview.haringey.sch.uk, our fundraising efforts are growing fast, and your input could make a real difference.

By the time our next newsletter reaches you, GCSE exams will be well underway. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish our fantastic Year 11 students the very best of luck. If your child is in Year 11, I encourage you to spend time with them over the Easter break to support their revision and preparation for this key stage in their school journey.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support. Please enjoy a well-deserved and restful break with your families.

With best wishes,
Andy Webster
Headteacher, Park View School

EAL Students’ Trip to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre

Following an engaging Macbeth workshop led by Globe Theatre actors at Park View last month, 50 Year 10 and 11 EAL pupils had the incredible opportunity to visit the Globe Theatre on 13th March to watch a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy.

For the second year running, we were fortunate to secure free tickets for our EAL students, thanks to the generous support of Deutsche Bank. Despite the classic British weather perfectly matching the play’s dark themes, our students and staff remained undeterred—bundled up in warm layers, umbrellas in hand, and full of excitement.

A delightful surprise awaited us upon arrival: we were upgraded to some of the best seats in the theatre, making the experience even more special! Our students represented Park View with excellence, their impeccable behaviour, enthusiasm, and engagement in the performance were truly commendable.

A huge thank you to Ms Petrova for her seamless organisation of the trip and to the EMA staff who accompanied the students. It was a memorable day that deepened our students’ appreciation of Shakespeare and live theatre!

Park View Celebrates World Book Day 2025

On 6th March, Park View was transformed into a literary wonderland as we celebrated World Book Day 2025! Many of our Year 7, 8, and 9 students arrived dressed as their favorite book characters, bringing stories to life with their fantastic costumes.

Throughout the day, teachers delivered engaging lessons inspired by their favorite books, sharing their passion for reading and encouraging students to explore new stories. Lively discussions filled the classrooms, with students eagerly participating and expressing their excitement about the day’s activities.

Over in the library, students put their book knowledge to the test with a game of World Book Day Bingo. It was a fun and competitive challenge, with students racing to guess the correct books and call out "Bingo!"

World Book Day at Park View was a wonderful celebration of the joy of reading, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Author Maria Montague Inspires Park View Students

As part of our World Book Day celebrations, we were delighted to welcome Maria Montague, author of Heart of Midnight and King of Souls, for an inspiring author visit at Park View.

Ahead of her visit, our book club had the chance to explore Maria’s books, which quickly became student favorites. They engaged in lively discussions, got creative by redesigning book covers inspired by their favorite scenes, and prepared thought-provoking questions for Maria.

The visit itself was a fantastic experience. Maria kicked things off with an interactive workshop, introducing her books to students who hadn’t read them yet. A highlight was the glowstick activity, where students were assigned different characters based on their glowstick color. She then captivated the audience with a reading from her favorite chapter before wrapping up with a lively Q&A session and a special book signing.

It was an unforgettable event that left students inspired and excited about reading and storytelling. A huge thank you to Maria Montague for sharing her time and creativity with us!

Empowering Future Female Leaders: International Women’s Day Event

We are thrilled to share the success of our International Women’s Day event, hosted in partnership with Local Village Network and Deutsche Bank. Designed to inspire and empower our Year 9 female students, the event featured engaging sessions on personal branding and networking, alongside inspiring talks from accomplished female professionals.

One of the highlights of the day was a hands-on trading game, giving students valuable insight into the corporate world. These interactive activities not only enhanced their employability skills but also helped build confidence and ambition for future careers.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing how motivated and inspired they felt after the event. A huge thank you to Local Village Network and Deutsche Bank for their invaluable support in creating an empowering experience for the next generation of female leaders!

Spurred to Coach – Training Day at Tottenham Hotspur

As part of our ongoing partnership with Tottenham Hotspur, 20 of our Year 10 and 11 students took part in an inspiring Spurred to Coach training day at the club’s world-class training ground. This initiative supports students in gaining coaching qualifications and practical experience, preparing them for future coaching roles in the local community.

The day kicked off with an exciting 7-a-side tournament on the academy’s top-tier astro-turf pitches, giving students a taste of a professional playing environment. After a well-earned break, they shifted focus to coaching, planning and delivering structured sessions to their peers.

This hands-on experience boosted their confidence, leadership, and communication skills while reinforcing the importance of teamwork in coaching. We are incredibly proud of their progress and grateful to Tottenham Hotspur for providing such an invaluable opportunity!

Year 10 Business Students Get a Behind-the-Scenes Look at Tottenham Hotspur

Our Year 10 GCSE and BTEC Business students recently enjoyed an unforgettable visit to Tottenham Hotspur, gaining valuable insights into the world of sports business and marketing.

Exploring the club’s state-of-the-art facilities, from the impressive stadium to the innovative fan experience zones, students learned how the club maximizes revenue through brand partnerships, sponsorships, events, and merchandise. Seeing these business strategies in action helped bring key classroom concepts to life in a real-world setting.

The trip was both educational and inspiring, giving students a fresh perspective on the sports industry while making lasting memories. A fantastic experience for all involved!

Friends of Park View School – Get Involved!

We’re excited to introduce Friends of Park View School (Charity No. 1210540) – our new Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Our mission is to support students through community involvement and corporate fundraising, helping provide access to additional activities, mentorship, and resources that make a real difference.

Library Book Donations

One of our first priorities is to improve the school library. Do you have any used (but good condition) books that our students would enjoy? If so, please drop them off at the school reception – every book helps!

Trustee Opportunity

We're looking for a new trustee to join our team. If you have time, energy, and experience in fundraising (especially corporate), we’d love to hear from you.

Calling All Volunteers

Want to support the school and get involved? We welcome all volunteers – whether you have a little time or a lot!
