April 9, 2012 - Our rides now start at  8 AM

The SAW Paceline

This past weekend was great for riding.  I hope that everyone was able to get outside and enjoy some time on the bike.  I rode in Easter Hill Country Tour in Kerrville on Friday and Saturday.  The scenery was wonderful and the hills proved to be a little too much for some because there were a number of riders walking up hills!

I thought that the Fort Worth Bicycling Association did a great job hosting this year's EHCT.  We will host the event next year and we are eager to get your feedback and suggestions.  Please send them to Tom Manning.

Please remember that our rides will now start at 8 AM.  This weekend's rides:

Saturday:  Toutant-Beauregard
Sunday:  New Berlin

Wear your Wheelmen jersey and join us for the New Berlin Ride on Sunday.  The club will pay for pie at Britski Station after the ride! Park in the field next to Britski Station.

Mark your calendar:  The Wheelmen picnic is scheduled for Saturday, May 12th, in Pickrell Park at 102 Aero Avenue, Schertz, TX.  Our ride will start from the park and we'll do the usual Cibolo routes.  The park has a large covered area for sitting and eating and it also has playground equipment for kids--bring the family!  Rudy’s will cater the event and we will have a drawing for prizes.  We'll start serving food at 11 AM.  Each plate will be $5.

Join the Wheelmen's Tour de Cure team and ride in the event on May 19th!  This event is an excellent opportunity to join fellow-Wheelmen riders for a great one-day ride in support of the American Diabetes Association.  To join our team, visit the team's Tour de Cure page or contact Russell Voyles, our team captain, at 201-492-6820.
