In this era of electronic commerce, a major concern has always been security. Santa Monica, CA based Digsound has developed a widely accessible watermarking technology to protect digital works. Infrared Mediaworks is a part of the initial beta test group evaluating the system.
Watermarking can be especially useful during the pre-production phase of a recording project for example. Ideas can be shared between collaborators quickly and easily in electronic format while still keeping the files safe from unauthorized copying. So far the early test results are very impressive.
