What watch case material should I use?
Watch cases are made from a range of matterials and each have their own attributes you should consider when selecting and purchasing watches for your clients
Materials can be split into 5 types and we have shown the positives and negatives of each to assist in your advise to clients
Stainless Steel - The best quality, very strong with great water resistance and fantastic longevity even in very harsh environments. The only ngative is they cost a little more.
Brass - Great quality with good water resistance. We need to plate the cases in gold or silver and this may over time show signs of wear.
Alloy - Low cost material and looks great when new, very well priced and plates well. Alloy is a soft material so should not be used where there is a high wear or a harsh environment if your client expects them to look great in years to come. Perfect as a hook in GWP (Gift with purchase) offers.
Plastic - Great price point and colours. Fun and good water resistance.
Silicon Rubber - Great colours that can often be PMS matched from low numbers. Very good price points so great for GWP offers.
