» TTK First AGM and Celebration

On the 24th April TTK will be holding its first AGM, during which a draft constitution will be discussed and hopefully ratified, as well as decisions made about the future format of steering groups and communication. Afterwards we will be raising a glass and celebrating TTK’s 4th birthday! All are welcome and encouraged to get involved at this ‘transitionary’ phase of Transition in Kingston!

» Seedlings at the ready...

Don’t miss another opportunity to swap seeds and seedlings - tomorrow at the Environment Centre (just behind Kingfisher swimming pool). From 12-3pm you will be able to swap until you drop, make seed bombs and buy heritage seed potatoes.

» Volunteers Needed

Opportunity 1: Our successful veg box scheme, From the Ground Up are looking for people to help pack customer orders. For only 3 hours of your time on a Saturday morning you can help bring affordable, local and organic food to our communities.  Please contact fgu@ttkingston.org for more details.

Opportunity 2: We are looking for additional volunteers to help on a "Green Fingers" stall in central Kingston during the May Merrie fesitval. We will be showing how to make pots out of newspaper and grow plants from seeds and cuttings, as well as giving out info about TTK.  If you can help for an hour or two, morning or afternoon on Monday 7th May, please contact marilyn.mason@virgin.net

» Paint the Town Green is Coming

Just a heads up that Kingston’s annual Paint the Town Green Festival will be taking place throughout May. TTK have a number of events lined up from Carbon Conversations to film screenings. Look out for the programme in the KingstON Magazine or online.

» BBC Radio 4 ‘Four Thought’ Talk

"Engaged optimism is the best way to face the global challenges" said Rob Hopkins on BBC Radio 4's Four Thought, a series of talks in which speakers give a personal viewpoint recorded in front of an audience at the RSA in London” Using a series of props, Rob illustrated his talk that aimed at ‘breathing new life into the concept of resilience’.

April 22nd : (2-4pm), Meeting Point: Teddington Lock Suspension Bridge (Tedd. side) Hosted by FGU. Come explore the natural wonders in the Hamlands with veteran ambler Geoff Hyde.  No charge, no reservations required. All welcome.


TTK AGM & Birthday Celebration

April 24th : (7-8pm), C-SCAIPE, Kingston University, KT1 2EE. All welcome to our first AGM, followed by a 4th Birthday celebration.
