ARTISTIC DIRECTOR’S NOTE MAY 2012

Welcome to the first edition of our new JMI newsletter.

It’s extremely exciting to be relaunching the Jewish Music Institute this year and to be able to announce a really amazing programme of concerts, festivals and workshops coming up over the next few months, and culminating with our Big Relaunch event in October.

I want to say a great big thank you to all the JMI team for making me feel so welcome. It’s been a very inspiring first few months getting my feet under the table and finding out all I can about the fantastic legacy of our founding director and 29 years of amazing work. It’s wonderful to be able to share brainstorming meetings with so many interesting people - musicians, educationalists, producers, promoters - and to begin to see our vision for the future becoming a reality.

It has also been wonderful to meet many friends of the JMI who have supported the organisation over the years and to see your passion for everything that it is that we do. I look forward to meeting more of you over the coming months and hearing about what the JMI means to you. This is going to be an amazing journey, with a great soundtrack.

And the first step - check out the new look www.jmi.org.uk, like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, become a Friend, say hello!
