HIGHLIGHTS
O! What a Beautiful Wardrobe!

I had the distinct pleasure to work with the incredible Gayle King and her creative genius, Adam Glassman, in the “De-Clutter Your Life” issue of O! Magazine.  “Gayle King’s Extreme Closet Makeover” ended up being a full force attack on every square inch of Gayle’s closets, bringing order to everything from gym clothes to gowns, baubles to belts and a mountain of shoes. Gayle, Adam and their team were brilliant to work with and I am deeply indebted to them for giving me the opportunity to partner with them on this project.  The end-result was truly a collaborative work of art.  Be sure to check out the article for some great tips and a good laugh.

Colors for Change

Whether it’s piles of paper on a table or a waterfall of clothes cascading out of your closet, the process of editing and parting ways with your belongings is often a difficult and sensitive process. Come into play, however, new reasoning and understanding and the entire experience not only becomes easier, but incredibly freeing, which is exactly the experience another client of mine recently had.

Our work took place in a gorgeous and peaceful town in Connecticut where my client resides, and began with my helping to bring some order to her surroundings - specifically her closet. After going through several life changes and a color consultation with a talented stylist that educated her on the proper colors to wear for her skin tones, she felt prepared to dive into her 300 sq ft. closet. Armed with her new color cards, we tackled over 12 years worth of clothing and accessories to edit her wardrobe down to her favorite and now best-suited pieces. After sending nearly 30 bags to friends and a local charity, her closet got the full jp. treatment, making it quicker, easier and more fun to get dressed as well as pack and unpack for traveling. At the end of the project, my client felt lighter, calmer and couldn’t stop smiling. You can see the final results on my website.

Begin Your Own Change

In the remaining weeks of Spring, I encourage you to think about where in your life change can happen and take some time to see what things you can part ways with to restore calmness and order back to your personal environment. If it is too daunting of a task to tackle on your own, invite a friend over and start the process together, or hire a professional to help. They’ll keep you honest and keep you on track. You’ll be surprised what you can live without.
SEASONAL TIP

Before the real heat of the summer is upon us, freshen up your air by taking some time to wipe down your air conditioner units and clean or replace your filters. Along with the typical dust and allergens the filter catches, humidity and condensation can cause various kinds of mold to build up along coils and inside the vents; so be sure to use proper gear or hire a professional. Getting your A/C primed and ready will not only keep you cool all summer long, but it will save energy too, which means more money in your pocket. For more information visit blackmoldtips.com.
NEAT PRODUCTS

The valet (also known as a catch-all) is one of my favorite solutions for helping to keep a man organized. My newly discovered favorite combines a valet with a coin bank, making it even easier to stay organized.
