Welcome to our June newsletter. We had some great feedback from our first newsletter last month and we hope you enjoy this issue!

Our projects and services...

Victoria Park Clean Up: A great day was had cleaning up Victoria Park at the end of May - read more here. If you would like a clean up in your area then please get in touch.

New Info and Membership Leafet: we have produced a new information leaflet about what we do. You can download it here and if you want to join DRCET as a member you can either fill in and return the form to us or complete our online form.

Community Empowerment and Renewal Bill: The Scottish Government has announced a 12 week consulation on the proposed Community Empowerment and Renewal Bill. DRCET will be looking to submit a response so if you have any thoughts or comments you want to share with us please let us know.

Kingsway Court Community Garden: The garden is really starting to take shape with more local residents taking up plots all the time. There are two social gardening sessions each week, Thursday evenings from 6-8pm and Saturday from 12-4pm. Read more about the garden here...

Annual Survey and AGM: We will be sending out our members and stakeholders annual survey in the near future along with details of our AGM so watch out for more news about this!

NEW PROJECT - Green Map project: We are currently developing an exciting new project to create a Green Map for the West of Glasgow. Check out the Sustainable Cardiff Green Map to get an idea of what we are trying to create. Keep an eye out for more news soon or get in touch if you would like to find out more!

Abundance Project: as part of the Green Map we are keen to map local fruit trees and bushes so if you know where there are any please drop us an email with the details (location, fruit type etc) This will contribute to the development of an Abundance Project here in Glasgow, which aims to harvest the seasonal glut of local fruit like apples, pear and plums.

Other news...

Action Earth: a new small grant scheme has been launched for work to take place from May to November. More details here.

Victoria Park blaes pitches: Friends of Victoria Park are keen to hear your thoughts on what the disused blaes pitches could be used for - more here.

Stalled Spaces: there will be a further round of applications for the Council's Stalled Spaces programme in August. More details here.

Factoring Commission: Glasgow City Council has set up a factoring commission for the city with the aim to establish a blueprint for how common property can best be managed and maintained in the city.

Glasgow City Council Administration Team: following the recent Council elections the new administration team has been announced. You can find your local Councillor using the Council's search facility.
