12TH ANNIVERSARY
 
Spring and summer celebrations include kids eating for free,
the start of salmon season, “A Night in Brazil,” Father’s Day and release of
2012 Devil’s Slide Summer Ale
 
 
Princeton-by-the-Sea, Calif. – May 9, 2012 – The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company  celebrates its 12th anniversary as San Mateo County’s premier destination for great food, handcrafted brews and ocean views this spring with a series of special events, delicious menu promotions and the release of Brewmaster Kirk Hillyard’s 2012 Summer Solstice Ale.
 
Kids Eat Free

The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company prides itself on its family friendly, come-as-you-are atmosphere and is celebrating its youngest guests throughout the month of May. With the purchase of one adult entrée per child, kids 12 and under have the pleasure of eating for free,  now through May 31. Offer valid Monday through Thursday.
 
Salmon Your Way

The start of the local salmon fishing season is cause for celebration and, beginning May 10, guests at the Brewing Company can order fresh-off-the boat salmon prepared by Chef Gaston Alfaro any way they like, whether it be poached, tempura, blackened or pan seared, with a choice of two sides, such as rice, mashed potatoes, small green salad or seasonal vegetables. Salmon pairs perfectly with Mavericks® Motor Head Ale, Big Wave Ale or Sandy Beach Blonde Hefeweizen.  Available Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout salmon season.
 
A Night in Brazil

For one night only, Friday, June 15, Chef Gaston Alfaro welcomes a special guest to his kitchen: Brazilian chef Marx Passos, former chef to the 1994 World Cup-winning Brazilian Soccer Team and currently chef and owner of Novato Café.  Chef Passos’ menu will be offered beginning at 5 p.m. Singer Liza Silva and her band Voz do Brasil will take to the stage in the bar from 7-10 p.m., performing the traditional music of the Brazilian repertoire: Samba, Bossa Nova, Afro-Samba, Forro, Samba-Pagode, Samba-Reggae, Lambada and Carnival styles.

Feijoada, a black bean stew with pork, beef and linguiça, served with garlic rice, collard greens, roasted coarse cassava flour (farofa), and peeled or sliced oranges ($20)
 
Peito de Frango à Milanesa (Brazilian Breast of Chicken Milanese), Brazilian breaded chicken breast in a white wine butter sauce served with garlic rice, and collard greens ($18)
 
Mocqueca de Camarao (Brazilian Shrimp Stew), prawns cooked in palm oil and coconut milk with fresh onions, tomatoes, and cilantro, served with garlic rice, and collard greens ($19)
 
Father’s Day

Throughout the day on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, the Brewing Company will wish all fathers a very “hoppy” day with a giveaway of their new, custom designed pint glasses. A live band will take the stage from 5-9 p.m. in the bar. Limit one glass per father with the purchase of an entrée; while supplies last.

12th Anniversary Devil’s Slide Summer Ale Release Party

On Wednesday, June 20, from 6-8 p.m. the community is invited to celebrate the release of Brewmaster Kirk Hillyard’s 2012 Devil’s Slide Summer Ale with free food and beer tastings. Devil’s Slide is a honey wheat beer brewed with 48 pounds of raw orange blossom honey from Santa Rosa, Calif. The honey adds a subtle sweetness and orange zest flavor. Citra hops impart crispness and a tropical fruit aroma. It’s the perfect brew for a warm, sunny day in the Mavericks Beer Garden. Approximate abv. 5.7%; available June - September.
