UNEP in the Regions: Supporting the Barbados green economy
The Barbados green economy study examines how Barbados can strengthen its policies and harness its investments, while enhancing its social equity and environmental protection. It is exemplary of UNEP's Green Economy Advisory Service, requested by 20 governments from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
We define "green economy" as one that results in "improved human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities." A range of Green Economy briefing papers and success stories are available from our website.
