Dear Colleague,

We are  writing to let you know about the upcoming Workshop "Building the Entrepreneurial University" organized by the Triple Helix Research Group at Stanford's H-STAR Institute this  summer and fall, on 9-13 July and 12-16 November 2012 (see details at http://triplehelix.stanford.edu/triplehelix).
After a successful Triple Helix 9 International  Conference at Stanford last summer(11-14 July 2011), this 5-day intensive workshop comes to meet a growing demand for learning about the increasing role of the Entrepreneurial University in national/regional economic development and growth creation. The event presents the experience of the most successful US entrepreneurial universities, including Stanford, MIT, Utah, Arizona State, Berkeley, CalTech, Boston University, University of Southern California, various US federal and state policies and mechanisms to support them, as well as the role of venture capital and business angel investments in this effort. The event is organized as a series of keynote addresses, individual presentations, panel discussions, visits to Stanford interdisciplinary centres, Silicon Valley start-up accelerators and companies, a foresight exercise, etc., all aimed to explore in-depth various aspects of university-industry-government interactions. The workshop is targeted at policy-makers, academic and innovation leadership internationally, interested in learning about best practice on this topic. This is indeed a premium event that offers a memorable experience to the participants.
We have an excellent line-up of speakers, from the top levels of Stanford and other US universities' leadership, business companies and US federal and California state innovation policy administration (OSTP, NSF, California Governors' Office for Economic Development, etc.), who will cover the most important aspects of the process of building the Entrepreneurial University. Confirmed speakers so far include:
  • Katharine Ku, Director of the Office of Technology Licensing (OTL), Stanford University
  • Rebecca Edwards, Manager of International Partnerships, Stanford Technology Ventures Program, Stanford University
