New features we think you'll love in MailChimp.
MailChimp
We recently launched some new features (which puts us at v7.1). And since we kinda forgot to tell you about v7.0 back in February, we thought we'd combine everything into one email for you. Will try to keep it as brief as possible...

Highlights

1. More email templates: Fabio designed 36 new templates in 7.1, and 24 new templates in 7.0. We've been adding so many templates, we had to redesign the way the campaign-building process works. Related: In this blog post, Lain discusses how you can customize different categories of templates for non-profits (or any industry, if you think about it). Finally, here's a nice tutorial for using media queries to design mobile-friendly templates.

2. International Currencies: MailChimp's based in the US, but the majority of our customers are actually outside of the US. Seems silly then to force everyone to pay in USD. So we've added 10 more currency options in your account options, like GBP, Euros, Australian Dollar, Danish Krone, Swiss Franc, and more.

3. List-specific Twitter Integration: You probably already know that you can integrate your MailChimp account with Twitter in order to take advantage of our social features. Used to be, we only allowed you to set one Twitter handle per account. Now, you can set different Twitter handles for different lists. Ideal when you manage lists for different departments or different clients. Related: We recently launched a very deep integration with Twitter, called Tweet Trends.

4. Referrer Tracking on Archives: When you send an email, your recipients (hopefully) share it. But how? And from where? We just added Top 10 Referrer stats to your campaign reports, so you can see if your email archive gets most of its traffic from facebook, twitter, someone's blog post, etc.

5. Transactional Email: By customer demand, we've built a one-to-one transactional email product. It's called Mandrill, and it's being run by a whole new team inside of MailChimp. There are already Wordpress and Joomla plugins. If you're a developer, you probably just want this: Mandrill API docs

We've detailed all new features for v7.0 and v7.1 at the MailChimp blog.

Integrations

One thing that makes MailChimp unique is our open API, and the number of 3rd party integrations that have resulted from that (check them all out here). Here are some recent integrations:

1. Hootsuite - Share campaigns to any of your social networks, view campaign results, and more—all from within your HootSuite account.
2. Pinterest - Send automatic email campaigns with content from your pin boards
3. Instagram - Send automatic email updates from your company's Instagram feed
4. Zendesk - Deeper integration between MailChimp and everyone's favorite support tool

If you build apps and integrations, you should totally take advantage of our Integration Fund.

Applets

As we grow beyond 1 million users, the different needs of our different customers keep growing as well. We could keep adding different features to MailChimp in order to satisfy all those different types of users, but then our app would get seriously bloated. We hate bloat. So to balance innovation with simplicity, we're launching "applets" like these:

1. ReplyTo - Filter out those "away on vacation" autoreplies, send only the human replies to your inbox
2. ListMD - For Daily Deal senders, or anyone with extreme focus on their list stats
3. Hairball v2 - For senders who need heavy-duty list segmentation
4. Wavelength - For publishers that want to find like-minded publishers

Love,

The MailChimp (and Mandrill) Team
