Jekka's Herb Farm
at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show,
21st - 26th May 2012
There is something very rewarding watching a seedling turn into a plant that you can then use to transform a meal into a feast. Growing herbs from seeds is a very satisfying and economic way to create an herb garden. At the
RHS Chelsea Flower show, Jekka’s Herb Farm are launching three new seed collections that contain a range of individual seed packets.
Herbal Tea collection, Edible Flowers collection
and Oriental collection.
At the herb farm, we are all strong supporters of a fresh cup of herbal tea, morning, noon and night. So we have created a ‘Grow your own’
Herbal Tea Collection which contains
Chamomile - for when you need a good night’s sleep,
Fennel - which helps with digestion, perfect after a large meal,
Hyssop - for when you have a cough,
Thyme - when you are down with a cold or flu and
Lemon Balm - to help relieve tension and restore the memory!
There is nothing better to entice children into the garden than by looking at and smelling flowers. They are even more fascinated when you can say you can eat them, so we have created an
Edible Flowers Collection with beautiful brightly coloured flowers that jazz up any herb garden. Not only do they look good but they taste good too. You can use them in salads, over fruit, in scones or even in ice cubes. This collection contains;
Nasturtiums Alaska, Chopsuey Green, Marigold, Borage and
Heartsease.
Herbs have been travelling around the world for centuries, our
Oriental Collection celebrates the variety of flavours that the East has to offer. This collection contains
Red Pak Choy, Japanese Parsley, Chinese Chives, Coriander and
Thai Basil. Add the leaves just before you serve your dish, straight from the garden, and you will be transported to another world.
These seed collections make ideal gifts for any occasion, an inspiring Thank you or Birthday present, for anyone who loves herbs, cooking and gardening. Available from Jekka’s stand, SW/1 at Chelsea Flower show for just £9.99. Alongside our
seed collections, we also have our individual
seed range comprising over 100 herb seed varieties, including the latest addition, ‘Red Veined Sorrel’, a green salad leaf with striking bright red veins. We will also have available our popular
Herbal Teas; Jekka’s Bright & Breezy Brew, Jekka’s 3pm tea and Jekka’s Goodnight Tea that were launched last year at Chelsea.
