Work Party
26-27 May 2012

Just a reminder to get your booking in for the upcoming work party next month -  Book Online.  Remember you will get a refund of your Work Party Levy once you attend the two day weekend.  Work party weekends are always good fun and a great way to get to know a wide range of members.

Remember, if you have a family subscription, only one family member is required to complete the annual workparty once the initial new member workparty has been completed.

Intermediate members advancing to Senior membership must also complete a workparty.

If you have space in your car let others know on Facebook using the link below so we can carpool and save petrol costs.

HOW TO BOOK

Pre-Season Bookings
All members who know what accommodation they will be wanting for the winter season (school holidays excluded) need to send advice of this to the Booking Officer via the website booking system prior to the season starting. The booking officer will allocate beds (Note: you may not get in for all the nights you want), leaving 6 beds free each weekend for casual bookings. If these beds are not booked by the Wednesday morning prior to the weekend the booking officer will advise those on season bookings of the availability.

Handy Hints:
  • Create a booking with your Name and Add SEASON BOOKING in the Comments field
  • Use the Guests Table below to add all the dates and number of nights you would like to stay
  • Pay the Total into the TSC bank account. If you don't get all the nights you requested, your account will remain in credit, which means you can use it for other bookings during the season.
  • Please advise the booking officer if you are racing or at the lodge for ladies/ mens weeks or other special event.
Standard Bookings
Members booking for Non Member Guests and Associates need to remember that a member must book and accompany these people. The exception to this is when mid week non member parties book and the custodian acts as host. The following conditions apply:
  • Make a separate payment for non-member bookings. The booking for non-members will be held and confirmed if bunks are available three days before the required booking. This protects members wishing to book. If no bunks are available for non members the payment will be refunded to the member making the application.
  • Non-members can only be booked for up to 5 nights (Sunday – Thursday) or a weekend (Friday – Saturday) but not both, i.e. they must move out and reapply if they want to stay longer.

Non Member Group Bookings: A deposit is required for confirmation with the balance due when numbers are confirmed.
If a group booking is cancelled 1 month or more prior, a refund of 50% is made. If within a month, the deposit is lost.

All member bookings to be prepaid.  Payment can be made by internet banking, or deposit to ANZ 010427-0009522-00. Be sure to identify yourself on your deposit. You may wish to keep your booking account in credit to speed up the booking process.
If paying by cheque, mail it to the Booking Officer. If the booking is for the coming weekend, the Booking application and payment must be received by Tuesday(pm). The list is closed at this time and spare bunks are sold to wait-listed bookings or residents wishing to extend their stay.

Bookings for school holidays will be open 4 weeks prior. The booking officer will then allocate bookings depending on demand. (It may not be possible for you to get all the requested nights). Maximum number of nights booked in advance for this period is to be six, although this can be extended at the discretion of the Hut Officer in consultation with the Booking Officer.

Members Cancellations/Refunds:

To qualify for a full refund:

Weekend bookings: Cancellation notice must be given to the Booking Officer by Tuesday 10pm prior.
Weekday bookings: Cancellation notice must be given to the Booking Officer by 10pm three days prior to the booking date.

Cancellation after cut-off will lose all funds except if bed/s is on-sold, then a $5 fee only to apply. Any variation to this rule is on application to the committee.

Refunds will be in the form of credits held to be used during the season. These may be returned at season end if not used.

The cancellation cut-off enables those on waiting list to be notified on Wednesday prior to weekend bookings and three days prior for weekday bookings. Earlier notice is always appreciated.

Residents wishing to extend their stay may do so only at the discretion of the resident Hut Officer in consultation with the Booking Officer/ Custodian.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Rose Battersby on her spectacular results in the Northern Hemisphere winter. Anne sent me the following email:

She has arrived home after a great Northern Hemisphere season.
At the World Invitational Freeski Champs she came 11th in Slopestyle, 9th in Halfpipe and 3rd in Big Air.
Ian put a link on the Taupo Ski Club Facebook page that has a lovely photo of her.  Rose on the podium. She finished the season as the AFP (Association of Freeski Professionals) ranked 4th in the world overall, not too dusty for an 18 yr old Taupo girl fresh out of school!
Phil and I would like to acknowledge the fantastic support shown to our family over the years when we were up every weekend  supporting Rose and Kate with their (and ours) passion for skiing.
Many thanks
Anne
