Vyda Ng is CUC’s New Interim Executive Director
 
Vyda NgTHE CUC BOARD of Trustees is delighted to announce that Vyda Ng has accepted its offer to take on the position of Interim Executive Director.

Vyda has had long involvement with the CUC, as a Board member, President, chair of two national CUC task forces, and in other volunteer roles — the Board describes her “uniquely qualified” for her new position. She began work today, and will be in attendance at the Annual General Meeting and Spiritual Leadership Symposium in Ottawa.

Active Democracy Report Calls for More Voices in CUC Decision-Making

CUC Active Democracy Study GroupTHE CUC Active Democracy Study Group has released its final report, recommending that more voices be brought into CUC decision-making, more effectively, and much more frequently than at Annual General Meetings.
 
The report, Strengthening Our Democratic Voices, will be officially presented at the 2012 CUC AGM in Ottawa.

2012 Spiritual Leadership SymposiumMORE THAN 250 Canadian UUs will gather in Ottawa this coming weekend for our Council and our faith’s largest events of the year — the CUC Annual General Meeting, and the 2012 Spiritual Leadership Symposium.

There will be ongoing reporting on the CUC website, Facebook page and on Twitter, from Thursday night through the closing ceremony on Sunday.

Halifax Wins a Northern Lights Grant to Expand Religious Education

Northern Lights Chalice Lighter ProgramTHE UNIVERSALIST UNITARIAN Church of Halifax will be the second grant recipient under the new Northern Lights Chalice Lighter program. Through the generosity of individual Chalice Lighters across Canada, the congregation will be able to strengthen its religious education programming.

UU Young Adults to Gather at Symposium in May, Opus in August

TWO OPPORTUNITIES are coming for Canada’s UU Young Adults to gather and build community.

One group of YAs has arranged a community building time alongside the 2012 Spiritual Leadership Symposium in Ottawa this month. Another is busy planning to host Opus 2012, this year’s North-America-wide young adult conference, at Ontario’s Unicamp in August. (An Opus scholarship form, and a form for offering workshop ideas are now on-line.)
