 Rollergirls know how to roll around ON skates. But IN a skate?! That’s CRAZY TALK!
Not so fast!
The Atlanta Rollergirls are proud to announce that on Saturday, June 9th, we will be competing for, well, bragging rights mostly, in the Red Bull Soapbox Race!
Our own Slamborghini of the Apocalypstix will be piloting our craft, which, appropriately enough, is a giant skate. For 5 weeks, we have been designing, welding, staring at things at Home Depot, doing more welding, bolting, drilling, gluing, sewing–yes, SEWING–painting, glittering, and weighing this car. We've put a lot of effort into it and it should hold up through the two jumps in the course.
Our “Pit Crew” – those who built the craft and will appear onstage during the skit portion of the competition-- consists of:

Shannihilator – Skater and captain for both the Sake Tuyas and the Rumble Bs
We are only allowed 5 people up on the stage, but there are some others that deserve honorable mentions for helping with the build!

Ready are you? Can the Sakes strike back at the Demons? Will it be an ending that will leave you floored? Park your Millennium Falcon and bring YOUR father to the Shriner's auditorium to catch the 5pm game. At 7:30pm, the Apocalypstix will try to disturb the force that is the Toxic Shocks. Try? There is no try. Come watch this epic battle and don't be afraid to wear your best Star Wars themed costume!
