New Tenants at CITYCENTRE!

2012

Not one, but two galleries, in addition to district-wide installations and The Market on Sundays, are enhancing CITYCENTRE as an art destination in Houston. BeHuman Gallery opens Saturday, July 28 and is adjacent to Eddie V’s and The Houston Texans Grille with a group show entitled Motion + Light. The exhibit features the work of six photographers, each exploring the theme in varying styles and methods.
The space adjacent to Eye Couture will soon become a new home for Muir Fine Art Gallery. Established in 2005, Muir has built a reputation for bringing some of the finest artists from Europe, Russia, Australia and throughout the U.S. to Houston. Look for Muir to open later this year.
Featuring high-quality clothing and accessory lines from New York, LA and Miami, Envi Boutique is slated to debut at CITYCENTRE this fall. This is the second location in the Houston area, following Vintage Park. Shoppers will enjoy an ambience that is calming, comfortable and sophisticated. Look out for Envi Boutique between Paul Carter Jewels and OLIVE & VINE.

Canstruction at CITYCENTRE
|
|
Call for Entries Deadline: August 24
|
|
CITYCENTRE will serve as the host venue for Canstruction, now in its 16th year. Don’t miss the August 24 deadline to sign up for the November 10 build! The competition, which attracts some of the city’s top architectural, construction and engineering firms, challenges teams consisting of at least one architect or engineer to create designs from non-perishable food items.
Last year 17 groups participated, and together, they collected 46,401 cans for their installations, resulting in 34,325 pounds of food donated to the Houston Food Bank following a week-long exhibition throughout the district. Ziegler Cooper Architects, Gensler and Mitchell Carlson Stone were among the winners. Continuing sponsors include A&E – The Graphics Complex and B4, a Midway-developed concept.
How do you join in the fun? Click Here to download the Call for Entries Form or for more information, visit canstruction-houston.com. Don't forget to secure one registered architect or engineer for your team!
