Summer News - July 2012

The sunshine has finally hit the West Coast of BC -  and I am loving it!
Hope you are too!

I have just returned from a family holiday, where we (with the help of a backroads map) discovered some amazing Pictographs.  What's the difference between a Pictograph and a Petroglyph you ask?   See photo below for more info.

Pictographs


While exploring Adams Lake, BC our family found these (and other) amazing pictographs - very cool!  

A Petroglyph is carved into rock and a Pictograph is painted onto the rock, often with red ochre (like this one, that we saw).  I wonder how old they are??

Card 640: A Life Time of Memories

A Life Time of Memories

This card (#640) reads: Life gives us brief moments with another...but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a life time.

I took this photo after a brief summer trip to Galiano Island with a few girlfriends.  It's amazing what we packed into a short time - so fun! - definitely memories that WILL last a life time.  

Wishing you many such memories this Summer!

Like Wine?  Me too :)    And I love this easy OLIVE TAPENADE while sipping on the patio  

Ingredients:
1 jar of Kalamata olives
1/2 jar of capers, rinsed
1 or 2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes
1/2 cup feta cheese
1/2 cup olive oil

Put all ingredients into a food processor - don't over process. Serve with crackers or baguette  - (and maybe some wine)  Enjoy!
