Quote of the week:
“In terms of days and moments lived, you’ll never again be as young as you are right now, so spend this day, the youth of your future, in a way that deflects regret. Invest in yourself. Have some fun. Do something important. Love somebody extra. In one sense, you’re just a kid, but a kid with enough years on her to know that every day is priceless.” ― Victoria Moran

Latest updates:
*** I arrived in Vancouver to some cooler, rainy weather than we had in LA, but the sun has shone out which is always beautiful here and my old home town is just as I remember it. It has been lovely to reconnect with old friends and family. I am so excited to do my Jumping shoots this week. I have a packed week of shoots with some very fun, beautiful, talented and interesting people. Several of whom will be featured in the upcoming newsletters and jumping photos of the day on the Jump for Joy! blog so stay tuned and look for them coming up this week.

*** I still have time slots open and would love to set up more jumping shoots while in Vancouver, so if you are living in Vancouver and feel like jumping for joy, expressing your creativity, playing around and having fun.. please email me at: info@jumpforjoyphotoproject.com to set up a jumping shoot with me.  :)

Featured Jumper of the week: Ulrike Meitzner!

Ulrike Meitzner (a.k.a Uli, Ulli-pie, and Eulichan) Lives: Berlin, Germany Works: Self-employed Grinburg Method Healing

Q: What iinspires you to want to jump for joy?
A. Being alive makes me want to jump for joy.

Q. What was your experience like doing the jumping photos?
A. Taking the pictures was fun because it made me remember that I'm still a kid and it's good to try some new kid-challenges once in a while (like, jumping high.. or, jumping with your legs high off the ground..).

Q: What inspires you in life?
A. My greatest passion is to get beyond my education and all the beliefs I grew up with and jump into the unknown - reality -, to be free to be who I am. This is also my philosophy & what I do in life.

Q: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?
A. I work with people, through the means of touch and directing their attention to their bodies and what they experience there, in order for them to gain back their personal expression, their joy in their bodies and their freedom. If I could do anything -- I would accelerate this process by exploding a gigantic love bomb in the stratosphere... the effects of which would be to open every ones heart and to stop any form of destruction and exploitation on this beautiful planet.

Other than that, I love good food, beauty in all forms, action movies and martial arts.

Ulrike works with the physical body using the Grinburg Method
"The Grinberg Method teaches people to make life changes. It offers an approach and skills that are learned through the body. When applied they lead to achieving the impact you wish for in your life—from realizing your goals and wishes to improving your overall health and well-being and living a more rewarding life." www.grinbergmethod.com

The photos of Uli were taken in Teotihuacan, Mexico 2011, and Arrilas, Greece 2011. I originally met Uli at a retreat that I was shooting with my good friend Esra in Mexico last year and have been lucky to have spent time with her again this year in Greece and Germany. The jumping photos in Greece were shot spontaneously on a long walk (also shot during a workshop). Loads of fun as always :)

My favorite answer from the JOY! page this week is from Bubblechild: "Sharing a bottle of rose wine, a few pieces of artisanal cheese, and some fine chocolate truffles with someone I love."
