Kia ora,
Conservation week is coming up and spring is off to a flying start with kākā and kākāriki laying their first eggs of the season and white clematis flowering in the valley. We recently released two hihi from Pukaha Mt Bruce - they were too quick for our photographer so here’s a photo of their arrival.
Due to popular demand we added two more dates to our Nature Photography Workshops and on the subject of photography you are all invited to enter our Spring Photo Competition.
We’re also looking for help with our upcoming street appeal so scroll down for details on that. Remember this Sunday dad goes free and on Tuesday night it’s Colin Miskelly’s seminar – see you there.
Here is the latest update from Acting Chair Graeme Mitchell.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

White clematis
Beautiful white clematis (puawānanga) is in bloom at Zealandia. It’s growing up the side of our Visitor Centre and can be seen in various spots around the valley.
This vine should not be confused with the pest plant “old man’s beard” – a different type of clematis that smothers native forest. Read more on Weedbusters.
