STAQ e-Newsletter September 2012

Welcome to STAQ's e-Newsletter for September 2012, in all new, easy-to-read format! What's happening this month at STAQ? There's so much to tell you!

Transitions

There have been a few changes within STAQ in the last couple of weeks. During August, STAQ underwent a staff transition and office relocation. We have put temporary measures in place to ensure that the STAQ office and events continue to run effectively and efficiently. Please make sure you check the website for our new contact details. STAQ would like to welcome and introduce Gaynor, our acting Executive Officer (see below). We would also like to thank Tony Boyle, the former STAQ Executive Officer, for the work he has done for the association and wish him well with his new ventures.
We appreciate that during the transition period there may be some technical difficulties experienced by our members. We would like to thank you for your patience and also apologise for any inconvenience you might experience. We are excited about the future of STAQ and would appreciate any feedback from our members about the direction we are heading in. Please feel free to contact the STAQ office or myself

Introducing Gaynor Johnson

Gaynor is our acting Executive Officer. You may speak with her or our Treasurer, Angela Harper, when calling the STAQ office. Gaynor is originally from north Wales where she graduated from Bangor University with a Joint Honours in Accounting & Mathematics and later a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She worked for Ernst & Young in London before immigrating to Brisbane 15 years ago with her family. She has three sons at three different schools across the western suburbs and works part time for the Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers (nearly 8 years now!). She thoroughly enjoys her job as well as running, music and reading. Gaynor looks forward to working with STAQ executives, councillors and members.

Thanks,
— Peta Jackson
