It has been a busy few weeks here at the Volunteer Resource Centre, and we have even more planned over the next few months!!!
We have received a LARGE influx of interest especially from Massey Univeristy & Ucol students, with a great mix of skills, experience and interests! Which makes this the perfect time to remind EVERYONE to ensure you have all your roles, job vacancies or Voluntary Wishlists registered with us! We cannot match or refer a keen volunteer to you unless we know what you are looking for!
Although we do make a concerted effort to learn more about each and every one of you and this helps us when we are speaking to potential volunteers and ways we think particular skill sets might assist your groups, it is still far better to have your roles listed with us so that we can sell your organisation on the spot! Even if it is just a generic "support volunteer" role on record so that we can link people to you to find out more, please ensure you have at least one role on record.
If you are not sure what roles you might have listed with us - or you wish to add more remember we can issue you a login (or two if needed) and you can log into our database and upload and edit volunteer roles held with us from the comfort of your office! No more filling in forms sending them to us (if you don't want to)! You can do it yourself in your own words! If you are interested in finding our more send us an email and we can send you a login and instructions! You cannot use this to deactivate roles or alter your membership records at this time, you will still need to advise us of these changes, but you can add, alter and create new roles in the system!
If you prefer we can send all your roles to you via an email and you can amend these and return them (in writing) and we can make any alterations needed on your behalf. And here is the link to the form you can download to add more roles to your membership listing! You can list as many roles as you like for as many people as you like... we will do our best to fill them! But also please remember to let us know when you have filled a role, so that we can deactivate it and not disappoint other potential volunteers.
Remember a role can be for almost anything. It can be short or long term. a One off helping hand or an on-going relationship! how is your website looking, does it need a reviewer, or someone to update your information. How are your Social Media skills? Looking for Governance or office admin support, sewing aprons or potting plants? Want someone to proof read your documents or answer the phones. Need a hand in the back office or in the shop, someone to do repairs or to pick and plant the vegetables? It might be something really innovative and unheard of. Whatever it is we are willing to help find a volunteer to fit your needs where ever we can! We do got out through our networks and seek particular skill/experience if we do not have someone registered with us too, so you just never know who we might find for you! AND if you need help in breakign jobs down, or think about what it actually is you need, give us a call we can help!

BOOK THIS DATE!
The Volunteer Resource Centre Manawatu & Districts invite you to our AGM on the 18th September 2012, at Community House from 5.30pm.
This will be an opportunity to meet the board and staff, and hear about what we have done and what we have planned!
Mystery Speaker will be announced closer to the time, and we look forward to an enjoyable evening in your company!

After our recent trip to Massey we have a number of new volunteers still to offer referrals too, who we believe we will be able to match shortly!
Out matches are only successful if both sides fit well together – therefore we really appreciate any feedback you can provide to us around those who we send your way! We will be instigating a new process around feedback shortly to help us establish how we can improve what we are doing for you!
