Le nuove musiche:
Embracing the Adriatic
Dragi prijatelji,

V isti zasedbi Bojan Čičić (violina), Nika Zlatarić (violončelo) in Pavao Mašić (čembalo) nastopijo v soboto, 25.8.2012, ob 20:30, v Hudičevem turnu v Soteski pri Dolenjskih Toplicah.

Umetniki so svoj program poimenovali Le nuove musiche: objemanje Jadrana.

Dear friends,

We forwarded the Croatian ensemble Symblema to the REMA Showcase in Porto, Portugal, last year in November. The young ensemble is set to have a powerful and recognizable international career, which has been confirmed by the enthusiasm of directors of early music festivals. It is, therefore, a unique honour for us to be able to host them in Slovenia this year.

They will perform with the same cast of Bojan Čičić (violin), Nika Zlatarić (cello) and Pavao Mašić (harpsichord) on Saturday, August 25th 2012, at 8.30 pm, at the Hudičev turn Garden Pavilion in Soteska near Dolenjske Toplice.

The artists have named their programme Le nuove musiche: Embracing the Adriatic.

The beginning of the 17th century was a thing of magic. The world was witnessing two major changes happening at a time; the starts of rich musical expressivity, which was new to the Late Renaissance composers, and the exciting development of instrumental colours and personal styles. In the writing of vocal music, the lyrics were becoming an inspiration for sound effects, which was why instrumental music composers tried to create “wordless songs”. That is how the images of passion, shown in a rich, sophisticated and forceful manner, came about, and they were no less intense than the ones found in vocal music. The programme reaches on one side to Venice, a blooming secular trading centre, which was not completely European nor was it totally Eastern, and which was boiling with musicians trying to get rich and famous, and on the other side to the Venetian territories on the other side of the Adriatic. From the Veronese composer Cecchini living in the Adriatic to Le Nuove Musiche of Castello and Stradella, this programme will delight anyone with an interest in the revolutionary ideas of the 17th-century musical world.

There is plenty of interest in this concert as well, and although there are some tickets available at the moment, they will most likely be sold out by Saturday. Our Festibus is also available for this concert and can take you there from Ljubljana, but keep in mind that the order of seats must be made by 12 pm on the day of the concert.

You can order the tickets on Eventim sales points, where you get a 20% discount off the basic price, through Eventim online sales, on our website, or directly from our institution: T: (01) 242 08 12, (051) 30 30 40.
