Everlasting Summer

School may be near, but the Summer is no where near being over. "End of Summer" really means bumper crops at their peak.

Peaches, Pears, Plums, Melons, and Pluots is just the beginning. . .

We've still got the last weeks of dry farmed tomatoes, as well as those delicious padron peppers that Happy Boy produce is bringing in.

Summer squash is still a big hit at our house on the grill along with three different kinds of eggplant from Hers Farm.

Company Jam will be back with flavors to spread on our great breads from Octoberfeast.
 
If there was one week you wouldn't want to miss at our market this would be it.

Come and say Hell-o to all the flavors and your neighbors.

Food Fun: Eggplant Involtini

Perfect for that last summer party, Eggplant Involtini can be an appetizer or a main dish. Grill, sauteé or broil thinly cut slices of eggplant and then stuff and roll it around anything that speaks to your senses. It's also a great dish to get little kid fingers involved - a little messy and stuffing requires no sharp utensils.

It's the last weekend of our backpack drive!  All backpacks will go to families who need a little help this year in equiping their kids to be successful at school. For every backpack donated, the Kensington Farmer's Market will fill that backpack with a plethora of supplies so every kid can start their new school year right.
